Business Advisor of SaracorpTuan Haji Ahmad Zakie Bin Hj  Ahmad Shariff, Business Advisor

Tuan Hj Ahmad Zakie holds a Bachelor of Economics, Hons. degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi,  Malaysia and a Master of Accounting Science degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, USA. He has also  undergone management training in renowned schools such as IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland, INSEAD in Singapore, the Cambridge  University’s Academy of Management, UK and the Singapore Institute of Management in the area of strategic leadership  development.

He is currently the Executive Chairman and Managing Partner of Kuber Venture Berhad, a specialist investment company based in  Petaling Jaya, Selangor which specializes in seeking out local and international companies with steady growth, to nurture and list on the stock exchanges of the world within 5 years. Prior to setting up Kuber Venture Berhad, he held multiple senior management positions including: Director of the Chancellor’s Foundation (Yayasan Canselor) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia; Group Chief Executive Officer at Perbadanan Menteri Besar Kelantan (PMBK); Chief Executive Officer at Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia (FIMM) in Kuala Lumpur; Head of Organizational Learning Division at Maybank Group; Director of Corporate Affairs at GLC (UEM Group Berhad); Chief Executive Officer, Permodalan Terengganu Berhad Asset Management; Executive Director of SJ Securities Sdn Bhd, a licensed stock broking firm in Subang Jaya in 2000.

Tuan Haji Ahmad Zakie has been appointed to various voluntary positions in his domain of expertise. He advises the Kelantan State Government on investment matters and was Investment Advisor to both Amanah Saham Kedah Berhad and Amanah Saham Terengganu Berhad in the past and is presently on the Investment Committee of the Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia (The Malaysian Examination Council). His interest in improving Malaysia’s latent talent pool has persuaded many universities in Malaysia to appoint him as Board of Directors and Advisory/Consultant.

Kenneth K. Y. Tiong, Group Managing Director

Kenneth K. Y. Tiong is a building engineer, and a graduate from Bristol Polytechnic (now known as University of West England). He has more than 35 years experience in the international and Malaysian construction industry.

In 1973, he began his career with Taylor Woodrow International LTD in London. Having gained construction management experience in the UK, he was later transferred to the Middle East and Malaysia. Kenneth joined William Jacks & CO in 1980 as Building Manager responsible for building products sales and distribution throughout West and East Malaysia. He was later engaged by global building products manufacturers, Hunter Douglas and Sika Kimia as General Manager-Director, responsible for the establishment of their manufacturing, marketing and sales divisions in Malaysia.

In 1991, Kenneth founded the Corpro Group of Companies, primarily involved in construction and property development which he managed until 1998. During this period, he also partnered with Nishimatsu Construction LTD, Japan to undertake major projects such as Palace of The Golden Horses, KLCC Basement Car Parks, KLIA Airport infra-works, Sarawak Stadium and Sutera Harbour Hotels and Resorts.

He later joined the family construction and property development business as CEO for Syarikat Charng Sheng Sdn Bhd. In 2002, he formed Ireka-Charng Sheng Sdn Bhd, a joint-ventured company with Ireka Corporation Bhd to undertake the RM480 million Urban Renewal Development Project, Sandakan Harbour Square in Sandakan, Sabah. This mega-project has been praised by local and state officials. It also won the CNBC-Asia Pacific Property Award in 2009.

Throughout the years, Kenneth has personally identified and driven many civil engineering, building construction, property development and urban renewal projects in East and West Malaysia.

Dato’ Ar. Aminuddin Abdul Manaf, Technical Advisor

Dato’ Aminuddin has more than 30 years of experience in the field of Architectural Consultancy and Development. Upon completion of his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Iowa State University, in 1985, he achieved his Master of Architecture at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, in 1988. Both degrees are from the U.S. In 1988. Following almost 2 years at the manufacturing company, Window Master he then went with the architectural firm, Carl Safe Design Consultants, both located in St. Louis, U.S.A.

Aminuddin obtained his professional license in 1992, and partnered at Alizar Architect, Malaysia, from 1992-2011, offering consultancy services to reputable housing developers; including, Sime Darby Property Bhd., Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS), Island and Peninsular Bhd, Guthrie Bhd, Land & General Bhd, and WTC Holdings Bhd.

While practicing architecture consultancy he became actively involved with the Malaysian Institute of Interior Design for 6 years as Council Member, Hon. Treasurer and Hon. Secretary. He also dedicated part of his time as a visiting design studio lecturer at the School of Architecture, University Malaya for 6 years. His most recent position was as C.O.O. of Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia, from 2012-2019, a Malaysian Government Public Housing Programme for the Middle Income group. Dato’ Ar. Aminuddin’s involvement with Pr1ma began as early as 2011, during it’s conception and founding by an Act of Parliament that gave birth to Pr1ma in 2012.

Financial Advisor of Saracorp Junaidi Said, Financial Advisor

Junaidi Said, holds a finance degree and an MBA from Drake University, Iowa, USA. He also holds a Diploma In Accountancy from Mara University of Technology (UiTM), Malaysia. He was trained as a banker early in his career with stints at Bank Bumiputra Malaysia Berhad  (now merged and known as CIMB Bank Bhd)  and Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank Berhad (now known as AMInvestment Bank Bhd) in the areas of credit and corporate banking.

After leaving the finance industry, he was entrusted to lead the fund raising activity for the first toll road concession in Malaysia, PLUS- a Renong Group company, in 1988. On successful completion of the fund raising exercise amounting to more than RM7.0 Billion comprising both Banks and Government soft loans, he was re-assigned to the Renong Group Management’s Office – HBN Management Sdn. Bhd.- to assist the Group Chairman in managing and monitoring the performance and activities of the Renong group of companies (now known as UEM Group Bhd) including investment analysis, corporate financing and trouble shooting. Renong group then was a conglomerate comprising more than 10 public companies listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.

He left the Renong group in early 1994 to take up a position as the Group Executive Director with a subsidiary of an Australian publicly listed property and mineral company, Astron Ltd for three years. Thereafter, he was involved in his own undertaking firstly in property development where he was involved in developing Kemaman Centrepoint; the only shopping mall in Kemaman, Terengganu, followed by securing and operating a water concession in the Philippines and thereafter establishing and managing an oil and gas maintenance & construction company in Malaysia.

Besides being involve in construction and property development, Junaidi Said is also involve in business advisory works. Among the projects that he was involved as advisor are the raising for Terengganu SEDC of a working capital facility of RM100 Million, Senai-Desaru Highway project for Rancak Bistari Sdn. Bhd.( a Ranhill group companies), Bio-diesel project for Lareno Sdn. Bhd., the establishment of a palm oil plantation in Kalimantan by Omega Technologies Sdn. Bhd., the takeover and restructuring of a dolomite mine in Perlis operating under Kangar Dolomite Sdn. Bhd.,  the fund raising for the RM350 million Rice Miller project comprising a 6-Star boutique hotel and residence on a piece of land in an area designated as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO on the island of Penang, and the development and fund  raising for a boutique Resort & Spa on the island of Bali, Indonesia for Virtual Peaks group of companies.

He was also the advisor to Lembaga Tabung Amanah Warisan Negeri Terengganu for the privatisation of a publicly listed state-link company, Eastern Pacific Industrial Corporation Berhad (EPIC) and was a director of Terengganu Inc. Sdn. Bhd.; the investment holding company for the State of Terengganu.  Additionally, he was also advising the state of Kelantan for the development of Kota Bharu-Gua Musang highway linking the central spine in the peninsula of Malaysia.

Currently, he serves as the CEO of Human-Life Advancement Foundation- an international foundation whose trustees include YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad (chairman), the ex-Prime Minister of Malaysia and Mr. Yousef Jameel, a Saudi businessman whose family owns the Toyota franchise in Saudi Arabia. The Foundation seeks to upgrade the well being of the society by encouraging and funding the development and promotion of new technologies including providing scholarships and research grants to inventors, researchers and research centers, and universities around the world as well as involves in the commercialization of intellectual properties.

Lee Yik, Project Director

Lee Yik has been with Saracorp since September 1999, as a Contract Manager, until he was appointed as an Executive Director in April 2001. Prior to this, he was the Quantity Surveyor for Nishimatsu-Corpro Construction (M) Sdn Bhd for more than two years. Lee’s career began with appointments as the Trainee Site Surveyor for Corpro Construction (M) Sdn Bhd, Quantity Surveyor for KM Engineering & Development Sdn Bhd and then the Trainee Contract Officer for Baharudin Ali & Low Consultants. Mr. Lee received his Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Quantity Surveying from the John Moores University, Liverpool, UK.

He is currently overseeing the Lagenda Tunjong Development, as Project Director, since he joined the team in 2013. The new urban development in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, is sited on 40 acres (16 hectares) of prime land within the 2000 acre, Bandar Baru Tunjong, township in greater Kota Bharu. This landmark development is a modern, new urban lifestyle haven to be undertaken in 7 phases, spread over the next 5 years, ready to set Kelantan as a fully integrated urban community hub.

Stephen Tennant, Projects Advisor

Stephen Tennant is a leading Asian based, construction project management practioner with over 35 years experience of successfully managing the commercial and delivery aspects of major construction and infrastructure contracts in Asia and around the world. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor & Chartered Building Professional, and has provided direction and commercial leadership for some of Asia’s largest infrastructure and building projects.

His expertise includes Strategic Development and Planning, Procurement Systems, Contract Formulation, Joint Venture Arrangements, Insurances, Contract Administration, Project Management, Quantum, Project Finance, Infrastructure, Gaming Resorts, Hotels, Airports, Railways, Bridges and Dispute Resolution.

Stephen is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors and Member of the Australian Institute of Building amongst other professional qualifications held. He is a graduate of the University of the West of England and is an Accredited General Mediator with the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.

He is also the Managing Director, Steve Tennant Consultancy Ltd, Hong Kong, 2008 – Present. His significant experience of leadership, innovation, change, project & commercial management, negotiation and dispute resolution at corporate, board, JV, project and personal levels with clients in Hong Kong and internationally on a personalised consultancy basis.

He was appointed South-Eastern Corridor (PMC) Sdn Bhd, Chief Executive Officer Designate from 2007-2008. Responsible on a consultancy basis for setting up PM systems, budgets, consultant management and provision of project management services for Mersing Laguna, a USD1b resort and urban renewal project being developed by Mersing Laguna Sdn Bhd, majority shareholder of South-Eastern Corridor (PMC) Sdn Bhd.
